The Bavarian-style buildings of Santa's Workshop are blanketed in snow. In the weeks before Christmas, families can enjoy this Christmas card scene during Yuletide Weekends. Photo courtesy of Santa's Workshop.

A stop at Santa's House is a must for every child visiting the North Pole. Santa listens to the children's secret Christmas wishes all day, except when it's time to take a milk and cookie break.

Inside Santa's house are all the things that he and Mrs. Claus need including their brass bed. It stands next to the large stone fireplace so they are nice and warm on those cold nights.

The Christmas Carousel was the first mechanical ride in the park. It is a combination of an Allan Herschell carousel frame, wood chariot and motor and Theel aluminum reindeer. The entire ride is painted with Christmas decorations and each section of the roundingboards have "Merry Christmas" written in a different language.

Other rides were added over the years and themed to Christmas. This Allan Herschell helicopter ride arrived at the park sometime during the 1960's. A used ride, Santa's helpers converted it into a Christmas tree ornament ride. The top propellors and the tail were removed, hooks were fashioned for the top and the "ornaments" were painted with holiday decorations. A tin Christmas tree hides the center workings of the ride. Children still love this ride as they bob up, down and around the Christmas tree.

The Nativity Pageant takes place twice daily during the summer months and once daily during the Yuletide Weekends. Live actors respectfully portray Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and three kings. Animals from the North Pole's petting zoo are used in the Nativity. Santa's Workshop is not politically correct. The true meaning of Christmas is part of the park's tradition and will remain so in its future.

Santa and his team demonstrate a sleigh-pulling excercise for guests with a little help from a gnome. The reindeer are in training all year long getting ready for their big night flight.
